InterpretLink legal policies

Acceptable-use policy

Effective 18 August 2026. These rules protect customers, interpreters, staff and the integrity of the InterpretLink service.

1. Lawful and respectful use

Users must not use InterpretLink to:

  • threaten, harass, exploit, abuse or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
  • facilitate fraud, crime, unlawful surveillance or evasion of a legal obligation;
  • misrepresent identity, authority, eligibility, qualifications or the purpose of a request;
  • submit malicious code, probe systems or attempt unauthorised access;
  • interfere with routing, billing, metering, audit, verification or security controls;
  • share access codes with unauthorised people or use another person’s account without authority.

2. Privacy and confidentiality

Users should share only information reasonably necessary to deliver the interpreting service. Detailed medical, legal, immigration or other sensitive case information should not be entered into routine routing fields unless it is genuinely necessary and lawful to do so.

Personal telephone numbers, credentials or private contact details must not be exchanged for the purpose of bypassing InterpretLink, its billing or its safety controls. Users must not unlawfully record, transcribe, publish or disclose a conversation or personal information obtained through the service.

3. Emergency and professional boundaries

InterpretLink must not be used as an emergency service. In the UK, call 999 or 112 in an emergency. Outside the UK, contact the appropriate local emergency service.

An interpreter conveys meaning. A user must not require an interpreter to act as a clinician, solicitor, immigration adviser, financial adviser, emergency responder or other professional decision-maker unless that person separately holds and is acting under the relevant professional role.

4. Interpreter conduct

Interpreters using InterpretLink must:

  • accept work only for approved language pairs and any approved specialism;
  • keep availability and eligibility information accurate;
  • protect confidentiality and avoid unnecessary disclosure;
  • remain with an accepted assignment until completion or a legitimate interruption;
  • use the platform’s neutral review process for unexpected disconnections or disputes;
  • not solicit customers away from the platform or exchange personal numbers to bypass safeguards.

5. Security and platform integrity

Users must not attempt to defeat authentication, access-code controls, caller-number masking, interpreter eligibility checks, connected-time metering, payment controls or audit protections. Suspected vulnerabilities should be reported privately and must not be exploited.

6. Enforcement and review

Where reasonably necessary, InterpretLink may restrict, suspend or review an account or request to address fraud, serious misconduct, threats, security risk, repeated abuse or legal requirements. Measures should be proportionate to the risk. Where appropriate, affected users may request human review.

Enforcement does not remove statutory consumer rights or valid rights to billing correction, refund or complaint handling.

7. Reporting concerns

Service, conduct or security concerns may be reported to support@quizandrise.com. Formal complaints may be sent to complaints@quizandrise.com. Do not send identity documents, detailed medical information or conversation content by ordinary email unless specifically and securely requested.
